What is your role as a yacht charter broker?
As a yacht charter broker, I am dedicated to delivering a high-quality yachting experience, connecting with the owners, and other brokers, and ensuring that every aspect of the charter meets and exceeds my client’s expectations. My role is to be a trusted, knowledgeable advisor, quality assurance, and support system for clients seeking exceptional yacht charter experiences.
What aspect of your job do you enjoy the most?
I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to connect with clients from different countries and cultural backgrounds. I love to travel so attending yacht shows is another highlight. These events help me gain knowledge about the destinations, and different yachts and keep me up to date with the latest trends in yachting. I always look forward to visiting as many as possible. Engaging with a diverse clientele and exploring the world of yachting in many forms makes my job not a profession but a passion.
Can you share your preferences for favourite yachts, and what makes them stand out to you?
The crew is what transforms your experience from perfect to unforgettable, making them the most important part of any yachting vacation, be it mine or yours. It's difficult for me to narrow down my preferences, as I love both the smaller gulets and sailing yachts, as well as the larger 4-deck yachts. For smaller groups, I prefer sailing yachts, offering an opportunity to sail in peace and tranquility, truly experiencing the sea. However, for larger groups, having a cinema room, massage room, and additional decks certainly doesn't hurt :)
Which yachts do you consider the best based on your personal experiences?
From my personal experience, obviously biased, I love our Freedom yacht the most. She has a special backstory, and strong family tradition, and is very unique because she can accommodate larger groups, making her ideal for broad family gatherings or vacations with friends. She was also the first yacht I cruised on for a week, an experience I'll never forget. In terms of mega yachts, the most stunning ones I visited are Project X, O'Ptasia, O'Rea, B2, and Victorious.
Could you describe the characteristics of your ideal client?
Different client profiles make my work interesting and each day is completely different from the previous one. If I have to emphasize one characteristic it's open-mindedness for new experiences.
What advice would you offer to someone planning a yacht charter holiday this summer?
My first advice would be to plan early on, as the most popular yachts get booked quickly and far in advance. Early planning not only ensures a wider selection of yachts but also offers more flexibility with dates and itineraries. Additionally, be open to our recommendations regarding the yachts and destinations. Our expertise and suggestions might pleasantly you and make your vacation even better.
In your opinion, which destinations are the best for this type of holiday, and what makes them ideal?
In my opinion, Croatia is the perfect destination. It's not overly crowded with yachts yet, which adds to its charm. The Croatian cuisine is excellent, the people are very friendly and the weather is perfect. The itineraries will leave you speechless since Croatia offers countless secluded bays, crystal-clear turquoise water, and several ancient towns. As an alternative I also very much like Turkey, and the French Riviera. Additionally, the Caribbean becomes an ideal cruising destination during our winter months.
How do you foresee the yachting industry evolving in the next 10 years?
There will be a growing emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendliness. Yacht builders and operators will increasingly adopt green technologies and low fuel consumption.
Which yachting events do you typically attend?
I make an effort to participate in various yachting events while ensuring it doesn't disrupt my workflow. I visited MEDYS (Mediterranean Yacht Show in Nafplio, Greece), TYBA (Gocek, Turkey), and Monaco Yacht Show. Hopefully, I'll soon be able to add the Croatian Yacht Show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and the Antigua Yacht Show to my list.
